Fully grassed with kikuyu. The turn from the 800 metres into the straight is banked to 3% adding to safety and providing outside horses with equal opportunity. Soil composition is sandy loam

Training Tracks:

 

A “B” grass track (indicated) plus cinders, dirt and sand tracks enables training (both fast and slow work) to be undertaken at practically all times.

A dry hard rack, firmer than a good track.

A firm track with a reasonable grass coverage, on the fast side of good.

A track with a good grass coverage and cushion. Ideal track, heading towards dead.

A track just with some give in it. Shouldn’t affect any chances although on the worse side of good.

A reasonable amount of give in it, on the better side of slow and worse side of dead.

Not a badly affected track, but will suit some horses more than others, just worse than dead and into slow range.

A more rain-affected track that will chop out, on the better side of heavy.

A soft track that horses will get into but not necessarily too wet, just worse than slow, but just into heavy range.
